| We give you access to our "server-based" geospoofing and geoanonymizing technologies and the open source Tor™ network to allow you to select premium proxy servers in almost any geographic country, region or city of your choosing. By "premium" proxy servers, we mean ones that are fast and reliable, and that you have permission to use. We will let you know the ISP (Internet Service Provider) and Organization owning each of the proxy servers, WHOIS Registrant name and address, and all other information we can pull together for you. We will also let you select either an IPv4 or IPv6 proxy, and allow you to use Proxy Auto-Configuration ("PAC" files) to manage your Proxy settings. By "server-based" we mean there is no software for you to download, install or upgrade - this is also sometimes called on-demand "Software as a Service" [SaaS]. You connect to our server(s) over the Internet using any browser of choice: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Konqueror, or anything else, and we give you simple ways to easily change your proxies as needed. If you are already connected to the Tor™ network, or want to see if you are, you can get details about your current exit node at showmyip.com/torstatus or check.torproject.org. You can also get a detailed look at the entire Tor™ network at torstatus.kgprog.com or torstatus.blutmagie.de. If you understand "Tor speak" then you might prefer to see the lists below, plus more detail, using Tor terminology.
| Current News: If you want to try out our service, we now have 11 ways you can do this: We ask that you limit your tryouts to 1 hour per day. We take down and restart all of these proxy services every few hours. These tryouts are built on top of the latest open source Tor™ software running on our server, and to make your experience faster we use the open source polipo caching web proxy as a Web accelerator. Please see our Privacy Statement. June 17: Proxy Auto Configuration "PAC" files no longer proxy IP Address 127.0.0.1 or "localhost". Read more at our blog. | ||||
We are also looking for sponsors to fund setup and operation of additional servers. As a sponsor, for $1,000 US per month, you will allow us to setup and run 1 more geospoofing server working in parallel with pickaproxy.com to support an additional 1,000 users. You can do this with or without your name associated with it, and request that we set it up in the jurisdiction of your choosing. This is a very cost-effective way for government, educational, media, military, financial services, and other organizations to provide a way for their employees and contractors to have nearly anonymous access to the Internet. (How cost effective? Compare this to installing and maintaining 1,000 desktops and laptops with Vidalia, Tor™ and Privoxy, or with Anonymizer or Steganos.) It is also a visible way for any company in the business of providing privacy and security services to put their brand in front of a very targeted market, in a way that will be immediately perceived as appreciated. Please see our contact info to get in touch with us.
